Learning outcomes of the course unit
The course deepens the study of economics and applies it to the study of the healthcare services market. The healthcare sector is in fact one of the most important sectors of the economy for absorption of resources and for employment. The course starts with the analysis of these points to go on to deepen the study of the topic of public health system management. First the characteristics of the market are analysed and then the supply systems and contracts between the various players are analysed. Then attention will be focussed on the organization of the healthcare markets and on the dynamics of interaction between consumers, care providers and public regulator. Finally, the supply and demand management tools will be illustrated.
Course contents summary
As regards healthcare economics, during the course the topics of the national health service reform will be tackled and its main aspects studied. The course aims to offer students practical tools for managing the supply of and demand for healthcare services. < /P>
