Learning objectives

The course aims to provide a basic knowledge on architecture, organization, configuration and administration of systems processing, with reference to the tools necessary for their implementation and management, and to the main security systems.
During the course the main virtualization and clustering systems will be examined.
Packaging, orchestration and distribution of containerized applications on Docker / Kubernetes environment

Base knowledge on Windows, Linux and scripting languages

User account management and file permissions on Unix and NTFS file systems.
Command line tools, process definition, resources and process monitoring.
Management of standard system services
File system management: NFS; SAMBA
Centralized user management: LDAP
Network management:

- Proxy
- Activity monitoring
Information security:
Introduction to cryptographic techniques, examples of use in systems.

Web / Apache
Introduction to virtual systems and their management and orchestration.

Other information

Will be provided dedicated systems in AWS cloud, and instructions to build a complete virtual environment. Laptop connected to the network is a mandatory prerequisite.
