Learning objectives


The class intents to built the basic knowledge to approach the archive science. Students will be able to describe archivistic material and use descriptive instruments like lists, guides and inventories. They will be able to move in the complex world of archives, both ancient and contemporary. The course aims also to provide students with adequate knowledge about the elements that characterize documentation in the digital environment: issues, debate, evolution of technology.

Prerequisites


Modul 'Informatica umanistica': basic computer skills.
Modul 'Archivistica': none.

Course unit content


The course consists of two modules:
- Archival science;
- Digital humanities.
Designed for students with basic computer skills, this integrated course is devoted to deepen the topics related to the world of documents, on one hand in relation to the specific archival context and on the other regarding their treatment (creation, indexing, preservation) in a digital environment.
