Learning objectives

The Laboratory will enhance the students' analytic, presentation, speaking and listening abilities in English as far as an advanced topic that is centerpiece of their studies is concerned: retail formats.

Prerequisites

A maximum of ten students enrolled in the Second Year of TRADE will be selected for the Laboratory.
They must ensure they will be able to attend the Symposium in Dublin during the week of February 2019 that will be defined later during fall 2017.
Please note that, given that the Symposium in Dublin will require students to be abroad for about a week, NO Erasmus finding is available to support their expenses. This means that selected students must be willing and able to pay for their travel and accommodation expenses (e.g. airfare, hotel, meals and so on). Students will be selected based on a motivational colloquium and for their excellent English language skills

Course unit content

For the third year in a row a group of 10 students of the II year will be selected to take part in the Retail Symposium at the dublin Institute of Technology, in february 2019.
Before the trip to Dublin, the students will work on the preparation of a case and related presentaion in English. In Dublin they will attend lectures by professionals, managers and academics on the topic of Retail formats.
Hence they will enhance their analytic, presentation, speaking and listening abilities in an advanced topic that is centerpiece of their studies: retail formats.

Bibliography

Readings and references for the preparation of the Report to be presented at the Symposium will be provided by the instructor as soon as the Dublin Institute of Technology defines the contents for the cooperation and the project work for 2018

Readings and references for the preparation of the Case Report to be
presented at the Symposium will be provided by the instructor to the selected students

Assessment methods and criteria

The report and the presentation prepared by the students will be evaluated for content and form, given the learning goals of the Laboratory
