Course contents summary
The course explores and research a quite unkown chapter of local theatre history and of Parma's university history: the Festival Internazionale del Teatro Universitario (FITU, 1953-1971) e la compagnia del Teatro Universitario that was active in the same period of time. The coruse is indeed a course on methodology in researching theatre history, since it includes visiting local archives who hold collections related to this history and critically working on the items they contain. In one case at least, at Centro Studi Movimenti, we will apply directly at opening the archives.
The course makes use of audio and video material and invovles students in simulation (creating direction of research) and exploring the archives.
