NURSING IN INTENSIVE COURSE
Learning outcomes of the course unit
The course of "Intensive nursing" is part of the Teaching or Integrated Course of Perioperative Medicine.
The course aims to allow the student to know and understand essential elements related to the assistance to be provided in intensive care settings, also in order to allow the student ability to use the knowledge and understanding acquired in identifying and establish care priorities and provide the primary maneuvers to support vital functions, up to the nursing management of the patient in the intensive care setting.

The assessment of the achievement of the objectives set by the course includes an oral exam. By asking questions regarding the contents of the course, it will be ascertained whether the student has achieved the objective of understanding and understanding the contents. Through questions regarding prevention strategies and the preparation of a care plan, it will be ascertained whether the student has achieved the goal of applying the acquired knowledge
Other informations
The integrated course pursues the objective of developing nursing skills in the management of the critical patient; at the end of the course the student will be able to:
Identify the characteristics of the critical patient and the related criteria for monitoring vital functions;
To ascertain and manage, by applying diagnostic - therapeutic prescriptions, the main signs and symptoms of organ or system failure, with particular attention to those concerning the cardiovascular, respiratory and cerebral system;
Plan nursing care and collaborative interventions in the patient with organ or apparatus failure and in particular in the patient with respiratory, cardiovascular and cerebral insufficiency;
