INTERNSHIP AT EXTERNAL STRUCTURE
Learning outcomes of the course unit
The internship experience allows trainees to mature a variety of experiences and skills that are really useful to their entry into the job market.
For this reason, learning and training objectives play a decisive role. The internship is aimed to achieve the training goals by means of a necessary internal tutor (university) and an external one (company/authority), which in this case, corresponds to the thesis supervisor.
Concerning this, the external and the internal tutors cooperate together in order to the student could achieve the following training objectives:
• Inclusion and integration into the corporate work by acquiring all the information about the general activities especially those in the field where the internship is held.
• Understanding the company’s regulatory provisions with particular attention to injuries, behavioral, hygienic or organizational needs required within the host structure.
• The training project defines the specific objectives, which may vary from stage to stage. However, activities in which the student can make critical decisions about the proposed topics and/or tasks will be preferred (making decisions).
Students will have the opportunity to elaborate information, ideas, problems and solutions to reach conclusions based on their own knowledge by communicating with expert and/or not specialist (communication skill).
At the end of the internship, the student acquires skills on the subject developed during the training project, taking advantage of the experience acquired in the company/authority. (Learning skills)
In order to be qualified for the training the student has to be registered to the third year of the Physics degree (3026).
Course contents summary
The internship is a training experience, consistent with the courses of the three-year Physics' Degree Course (3026), with the aim of enabling students to match and to enrich the concepts learned during the courses and to guide their future professional choices. The results obtained during the internship will be used to prepare the report presented at the degree examination.

Assessment methods and criteria
At the end of the training placement the External Tutor compiles the "Evaluation Form" in which the skills acquired by the trainees during their internship are explained. In particular, the Basic skills (Physics, Computer Science, Linguistics etc ...) Technical (specifically achieved during the training project) and Transverse (Organizational, Relational, Collaborative, Degree of Autonomy, Interest/Motivation, personal initiative, sense of responsibility) will be evaluated.
At the end of the evaluation, the External Tutor proposes a vote in thirtieths. The Internal Tutor, in agreement with the Internship Representative of the Physics Degree, will proceed to verbalize the evaluation taking into account what is written into the “Evaluation Form”.
