Learning objectives

During the 2nd year internship, during the first and second semester the student is guided to collect in written form the patient's medical history to fill in the report and the rehabilitation chart, in order to acquire the ability to evaluate the functions and the patient's abilities and impairments.
The student is guided to identify the problems to be faced and to define the short and medium term objectives of the rehabilitation project. The goals to be achieved are the correct use of the assessment tools and the ability to perform appropriate therapeutic proposals.

Course unit content

TRAINING: ORTHOPEDIC FIELD
KNOWLEDGE of the correct way of collecting data useful for:
• compose the patient's clinical picture in relation to the orthopedic pathology
• draw up a rehabilitation project
• fill out the Rehabilitative Folder.
MASTERY in performing an appropriate assessment in orthopedic rehabilitation.
KNOWLEDGE of some evaluation tests in relation to the different orthopedic clinical pictures.
PHYSIOTHERAPICAL FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT: collection of anamnesis, execution of the Objective Exam in all its parts and evaluation of the functions.Analysis of pain symptoms and compensations implemented by the patient.Muscle, joint, anthropometric test.Identification of the main problems and planning of the therapeutic objectives.Demonstration of therapeutic proposals.

TRAINING: ADULT NEUROLOGICAL FIELD
KNOWLEDGE of the correct way of collecting data useful for:
• compose the patient's clinical picture in relation to neurological pathology
• draw up a rehabilitation project
• fill out the Rehabilitative Folder.
MASTERY in performing an appropriate assessment in neurological rehabilitation.
KNOWLEDGE of some evaluation tests in relation to the different neurological clinical pictures.
PHYSIOTHERAPICAL FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT: collection of anamnesis, execution of the Objective Exam in all its parts.Analysis of signs and compensations that help or interfere with the function.Correct use of assessment tools and identification of the main problems and planning of therapeutic goals.

TRAINING: GERIATRIC FIELD
KNOWLEDGE and prevention of Immobilization Syndrome and falling risk.
KNOWLEDGE of the aids and orthoses that facilitate autonomy and safety in the activities of daily life (AVQ) and in the journey.KNOWLEDGE of some evaluation tests in relation to the various geriatric clinical pictures.
PHYSIOTHERAPIC FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT: functional evaluation including predictive tests for falls.Evaluation of sitting and standing posture, postural passages and walking.Execution of positioning and patient movement techniques.Support to therapeutic activities with individual and group sessions and training for the use of aids and orthoses.

TRAINING: NEUROLOGICAL CHILDHOOD FIELD
KNOWLEDGE of the correct way of collecting data useful to compose the clinical picture of the patient in relation to neurological and neuropsychiatric diseases of children.Knowledge of the correct modality of evaluation of the main clinical pictures of the infantile pathology
CAPACITY of:
- carry out anamnestic collection
- analyze the psycho-motor repertoire, organizational strategies and their functional use
- evaluate the child's interaction with the environment
- hypothesizing the rehabilitation setting.

TRAINING SPORTS FIELD
KNOWLEDGE of the correct way of collecting data useful to compose the clinical picture of the patient in relation to sports traumatology.
MASTERY in performing an appropriate assessment in the field of sports rehabilitation.
KNOWLEDGE of some evaluation tests in relation to the various traumatic sports clinical pictures.
PHYSIOTHERAPICAL FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT: collection of anamnesis, execution of the Objective Exam in all its parts and evaluation of the functions in relation to the sporting gesture.Analysis of musculoskeletal disorders in relation to the painful symptomatology and the payments made by the patient.Muscular, articular, anthropometric test.Identification of the main problems and planning of the therapeutic objectives.Demonstration of therapeutic proposals.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY FIELD
KNOWLEDGE of the methods of construction and resolution of foreground questions (PICOM) for the acquisition of professional skills and for the resolution of problems of clinical practice.
Basic KNOWLEDGE of the study drawings and related test statistics.
AUTONOMY in the structuring of the State of the Art as an introduction to the Elaborati foreseen by the Degree Course, through the systematic review of literature...

Teaching methods

The internship includes the following activities:
• Internship guided by the professional figures identified by the Degree Course as tutor / internship guides
• Research Methodology Laboratory (with relative evaluation)
• Individual or group learning activities, through simulations and / or exercises
• Development of reports, rehabilitation folders and deliveries
• Seminar and study activities, also aimed at preparing the Degree Thesis
• Guided visits to structures / events
• Annual Practice Test, at the end of each year of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student will be evaluated with respect to the abilities of:
 present a clinical case including the anamnestic and social data
 perform a functional evaluation
 identify the patient's main problems and the short and medium-term goals
 demonstrate some therapeutic proposals
 describe the clinical picture and the functional strategies that the child, with central neurological pathology, peripheral and / or neuropsychiatric, puts in place to achieve his goals
 know and hypothesize the correct therapeutic setting
 recognize the significant aspects of the therapist-patient relationship
