Learning objectives

During the 1st year internship, the student is guided to observe the psycho-motor development of the child and the motor behavior of the adult, noting the peculiar characteristics, according to what has been learned in the theoretical-practical lessons.
It is also guided to observe and implement all the skills related to the techniques of gripping and moving the patient, positioning, massage techniques, use of physical therapy equipment.

Course unit content

TRAINING: INFANTILE FIELD
KNOWLEDGE of the psycho-motor and interpersonal characteristics of the child 1/6 years.
OBSERVATION of the psycho-motor and relational development of the child 1/3 years in nurseries and 3/6 years in kindergartens.
CAPACITY to use the theoretical knowledge acquired to evaluate the psycho-motor skills of the child.

TRAINING: PHYSICAL THERAPY, INSTRUMENTAL AND KINESITHERAPY FIELD
KNOWLEDGE of the execution procedure:
1. collection of anamnestic data
2. objective examination
3. identification of the alterations of the normophysiological framework and of how these affect motor behavior
SKILLS in the execution of: physical examination, joint examination, muscular examination, gripping techniques, massage techniques, kinesitherapy and the use of physical therapy equipment.
AUTONOMY in the execution of the objective, articular and muscular examination.
AUTONOMY in the analysis of the different postures and motor functions in the healthy adult subject.
AUTONOMY in gripping techniques for patient mobilization and movement.
AUTONOMY in massage techniques.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY FIELD
KNOWLEDGE of the functions and characteristics of research in the biomedical field.
KNOWLEDGE of the different characteristics of the bibliographic sources (primary, secondary and tertiary) and of the gray literature.
KNOWLEDGE of the methods of construction and resolution of background questions for the acquisition of basic skills.
AUTONOMY in the structuring of the State of the Art as an introduction to the Elaborati foreseen by the CdL.

Teaching methods

The internship includes the following activities:
• Internship guided by the professional figures identified by the Degree Course as tutor / internship guides
• Research Methodology Laboratory (with relative evaluation)
• Individual or group learning activities, through simulations and / or exercises
• Development of reports, rehabilitation folders and deliveries
• Seminar and study activities, also aimed at preparing the Degree Thesis
• Guided visits to structures / events
• Annual Practice Test, at the end of each year of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student will be evaluated, both in the adult and in the child, with respect to the abilities of:
 analyze the different types of posture, the motor skills, the postural passages and the path.
 evaluate the balance reactions in the different postures
 perform muscle, joint and massage
 move a subject (techniques and sockets)
 recognize the skills that the child acquires during the psycho-motor development
