Integrated course unit module: HEALTH MANAGEMENT

Learning objectives

The module is about the basic notions of linguistics, which is the scientific study of the human language and its structure.

The primary course objective is to get the students to reflect on the way everyone uses this essential communication tool.

The subject will be introduced through the different levels in which the language structures itself, trying to highlight the scopes of action in healthcare settings, within which the knowledge of linguistics can be useful.

The verbal and non verbal communication.

The relation between communication and behaviour in healthcare settings.
The essential attitudes for an active listening.
The touch and its importance in the therapeutic relationship.
Communication with the hospitalized child.
The relationship between healthcare professionals, the patient and the family.
