Integrated course unit module: DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING AND DATA MANAGEMENT

Learning objectives

- Know and understand the preparation and execution mode of examinations in Conventional Radiology, with and without contrast, and the characteristics of the contrast agents used
- Knowing the macroscopic radiological anatomy

Prerequisites

- ­It has taken the exam of Human Anatomy and Physiology

Course unit content

- Advancing knowledge on the X-rays production and their interaction with matter
­- Knowledge of the techniques and research methods osteoarticular apparatus, chest and abdomen, with equipment selection of Conventional Radiology, physical and geometrical parameters
­- Patient preparation in the various types of conventional radiological and contrastographic investigation
­- The contrast agents and their administration

Full programme

­- Geometric parameters: plans, positions and projections of radiographic projections
­- Physical parameters (kV, mA, time) and usage
­- Radiographic study of gastro-intestinal, urogenital and hepatobiliary tracts: anatomy and physiology, technique, projections and fairness
­- Using digital remote controlled device for contrastographic investigations for gastro-intestinal, urogenital and hepatobiliary studies and preparation of contrast, projections and fairness
­- Radiological anatomy of bones and joints, chest, abdomen and gastrointestinal, urogenital and hepatobiliary tracts
