Learning objectives


The aim of the course is to make students acquainted with the origins and the development of germanic languages, from the oldest times up to the beginning of he modern era.

Prerequisites


Knowledge of at least one germanic language

Germanic comparative philology

Full programme


One can extend the comparation up to modern Language, especially Yiddish.
