Learning objectives

<br />Course goal is to provide an introduction to the basic concepts of quantitative analyses of fossil assemblages in paleontological and micropaleontological studies and to obtain some experience with the interpretation of the results of such studies

Prerequisites

<br />The courses Paleontology and Micropaleontology must have been attended

Course unit content

<br />Concepts and methods in Biostratigraphy, qualitative vs. quantitative biostratigraphic analyses, graphic correlation, age/depth plots, multivariate analyses, probabilistic methods, stable isotope stratigraphy.
