Learning objectives

The course aims to provide the elements for a proper assessment of the risks of human activities on the environment and their effects on human health. In particular, it will be focused on the analysis of a particularly sensitive area such as that of "quality" that is suitable both for in-depth specific implications related to other matrices, such as soil, waste and food and on the effects of environmental air pollutants.

Prerequisites

Students need the knowledge gained from the course Fundamentals of Chemistry and the basic knowledge of Organic Chemistry are required.

Course unit content

The course aims to provide the basic concept for understanding: characterization and origin of the major classes of pollutants, their measurement and their effects on human health; assessment and air quality management; assessment of anthropogenic pressures, inventories and models, and indoor air pollution, with particular reference to the preparation of plans of reorganization effective both from the point of view of health and of statement.
