Learning outcomes of the course unit
The integrated course of speech therapy Rehabilitation aims to enable the student to know and understand the essential elements of the main neoplastic diseases of the pontocerebellar angle, especially the acoustic neuroma and Neurofibromatosis 2. The student must acquire the ability to use the knowledge and understanding in the use of different methods audiometric in order to provide a correct instrumental diagnostics. The ability to use knowledge and understanding should allow the student to navigate in the indications and management at the Plant Auditory brainstem. The course also aims to enable the student to know and understand the essential elements of the pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of the main cognitive disorders in childhood and genetic syndromes pertaining to speech therapy. The goal is to enable students to acquire the ability to use knowledge and understanding to identify the patient's problems related to the condition of the person with the disease or cognitive syndromic and prepare a care plan adequately. The student, using the knowledge of anatomy, biology, physiology, general pathology and psychology previously acquired, will have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding about the evaluation and planning of a personalized rehabilitation plan. The student also applying knowledge and understanding acquired, shall be able, also collaborating with other professionals, to identify the problems related to the disease from which the patient is suffering, and to prepare a care plan adequately.
Course contents summary
The course aims to address the fundamental aspects of instrumental diagnostic audiological and possible prosthetic rehabilitation in neoplastic disease of the pontocerebellar angle. Course topics are therefore directed primarily to the study of acoustic neuroma and neurofibromatosis 2, as well as notes on the other neoplastic diseases of the pontocerebellar angle. In particular, they face the aspects of epidemiology, symptoms, diagnostic instrumental audiometric, surgical therapy. The second part of the course is devoted to the discussion of the Plant Auditory brainstem, describing the characteristics of functionality, directions, strategies electrophysiological intra and post-operative and its diversification towards the Plant Cochlear. The first lessons of speech concerning general topics (knowledge of the development of cognitive skills in children), the discussion of the basic elements of etiology, diagnosis and treatment of cognitive disorders, analysis of testistica specification used to evaluate speech therapy, the budget speech therapy and major rehabilitation methodologies to be used. The notions of genetics, the discussion of the basic elements of etiology, diagnosis and treatment of the major syndromes attributable logopedica, analysis testistica used for the evaluation, the budget speech therapy and treatment of the main genetic syndromes complement the topics of the speech therapy course .

Oral lesson. The course program is carried out using the slide show and short films, in order to achieve greater student participation. The last minutes of the lesson are reserved to requests for clarification from the students. It provides for the discussion of emblematic cases.
Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment of the achievement of the objectives of the course consists of the oral examination and a written examination in progress. Through verification will be determined whether the student has achieved the goal of knowledge and understanding of the course content and the acquisition of strategies for prevention and preparation of a care plan to apply the knowledge gained.
