It is a training course where the student acquire technical skills useful for the veterinary practice. The "Pre-professional internship” is supported by an individual student training project, signed between the parties: University of Parma, Host organization and the student. The thematic contents are those indicated in the "Portfolio" in relation to the individual skills of the Scientific Disciplinary Sectors for the types of basic and characterizing training activities.

The actors and the instruments
University of Parma – Department of Veterinary Science : the subject that promotes the experience of internship planning the contents, the development, assuming responsibility for the quality assurance and regularity of the training;
Hosting organization – Hosting tutor: veterinary surgeons, or other professional profiles, public and private, free to perform the ""Pre-professional internship” training. The Hosting organization may coincide with Hosting tutor who represents the subject of the student's assistance in the development of the ""Pre-professional internship” training.

As regards the activities carried out by the student in a Hosting organization, the Hosting tutor certifies the acquired skills, to the trainer student, with a signature on Portfolio..
Teaching tutor: the person identified by the promoter with the task of defining the training project and supporting its realization;
Training project: the project that outlines the training path of the subject during the internship period "Pre-professional internship”. It contains the place and time of the activities as well as the training activities foreseen for the acquisition of the specific skills (Portfolio).
Portfolio: personal booklet of the student that collects the skills acquired, certified, during "Pre-professional internship”.
