Learning outcomes of the course unit
The course aims to develop in students a good understanding of the fundamental elements of matter. The course also has as objective to enable students to gain an autonomous argumentative skills and judgment related to the study and analysis of the main aspects of environmental law.
Course contents summary
The course is divided into three cycles of lectures. The first series of lectures it provides the introductory notions but necessary to the study and understanding of environmental law. The basic notions concerning the study of evolution of environmental law, the analysis of international and Community sources, the illustration of the constitutional principles and the administrative procedures in the field of the environment. the second series of lectures is aimed at discussion of the peculiar aspect of this branch of law such as the principle of sustainable development, liability for damage to the environment, the environmental risk assessment , the environment and the territory. The third series of lectures is dedicated to the analysis of particularly topical issues such as waste.
The teaching will be done with classes not only lectures, but also through interactive teaching together with the analysis of the most important and recent judgments useful to full knowledge of the matter.
Assessment methods and criteria
The learning and the degree of preparation will be verified by oral examination. The student must demonstrate that they have acquired a total an appropriate knowledge of the concepts discussed during the course of lessons.
