Learning objectives

The course provides the background about nervous system and the principles of learning needed to understand the normal ethogram of the horse.

<br />Lymbic system and emotions. Hypothalamus and homeostasis. Innate behaviors. Learned  behaviors:classic and operant conditioning. Reward and punishment. Impriniting. Special senses. Social behavior and hierarchy. Territorial behavior. Pheromones. Biology of stress: endocrine and behavioral aspects.
