IONIZING RADIATION: HEALTH EFFECTS
Learning outcomes of the course unit
The goal of the course is to provide to the students some fundamental notions in the field of ionizing radiations.
Notions of radioprotection will be also provided, with reference to current regulations. In particular, special attention will be devoted to the sanitary effets arising from the exposition to ionizing radiations, with a few references to nuclear accidents.
Course contents summary
Basic notions on ionizing radiations, their effects on the human body, and radioprotection.
Assessment methods and criteria
At the end of teh course, a multiple choice questionnaire will be administered to the students.
Idoneity will be achieved with 60% or more of correct answers.
