<br />Epidemiology past and present; Definition of epidemiology: concepts and principles; Main measures of disease frequency: incidence, prevalence and other rates; Risk Assessment; Specificity, sensitivity, predictive value of a diagnostic test; Henle-Koch’s and Evans’ Postulates; Demonstration of causality; Transmission and maintenance of infection; Patterns of disease; Modelling; Sampling; Observational, experimental, prospective and retrospective studies; Control and eradication of disease; Epidemic curves; Risk assessment and risk management.
