Integrated course unit module: ODONTOSTOMATOLOGICAL DISCIPLINES I

Learning objectives

The teaching is part of the integrated course of "Discipline Odontostomatological I" and has the goal of enabling the student to know and to understand the essential theoretical and practical knowledge which will enable a systematic and rational approach to the diagnosis and treatment of oral rehabilitation with fixed and removable prostheses, whether partial or total, so as to enable it to use the knowledge and understanding gained to better face the next course of implants fifth year.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
-Objectives of knowledge (to know): The student at the end of the course will demonstrate knowledge and understanding about the epidemiology of edentulism, the classification of the denture, the morpho-structural and functional evaluation of the stomatognathic system, the interactions with other dental disciplines, the formulation of diagnosis and treatment plan.
-Objectives of competence (skills): at the end of the course the student should be able to classify the various types of edentulism and various impairments of the dental arches, fill out the medical records, assessing the psychological profile of the patient, assess problems intern and their correlation with the prosthetic treatment, examined clinically, to evaluate the functional aspects of the stomatognathic system, make a diagnosis and suggest a rehabilitation plan.Annulla modificheAlpha

Course unit content

The first lessons relate to the epidemiology of edentulism, the psychological aspects of prosthetic rehabilitation and classification of the various forms of dentures. Subsequently the evaluation will be carried out morpho-structural and functional of the stomatognathic system, the study of occlusal morphology and the interactions between prosthesis periodontics, orthodontics, endodontics and restorative dentistry.

Teaching methods

The training will be carried out through lectures, seminars, interactive teaching sessions with discussion of clinical cases, always giving great importance to open dialogue with students in order to develop and stimulate their understanding and knowledge, communication skills and the ability learning.
