Learning outcomes of the course unit
Knowledge and understanding:
essential knowledge of mathematical calculus.
Making judgements: basic.
Communication and learning skills:
properly express themselves with mathematical language.
The course aims to give the knowledge of the basic concepts for a precise and quick investigation of the resources in medical databases and understand the best way to their investigations. Therefore to give the knowledge to refine a question and evaluate the outcomes of an investigation both for clinical and scientific purposes.

Lectures, discussions and practical exercises on computer of several different topics, in order to give to the students the knowledge of the medical data-base investigation as an important aid to solve specific clinical problems or scientific goals.
Assessment methods and criteria
Mathematics: written and oral examination.
Practical computer examination in order to ensure the quality and level of knowledge and understanding of the course content and the ability to apply the acquired knowledge to professional practice. The trial will also evaluate the quality of student participation in class.
