Learning objectives

At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate that they have acquired knowledge about the human relationships between different cultures and from different cultures, understanding of cultural diversity in health care and nursing of the methods of proper professional behavior in the presence of cultural diversity . Acquisition of knowledge in the field of transnational migration, the relationship between field experiences and compose material or scientific significance of interpretation in anthropology. Course unit content

The course has as its goal the teaching students knowledge related to understanding of the habits, customs, behaviors, social and religious values, and habits of life of those cultural and ethnic diversity have become an integral part of the country. Knowing others go through what they do ethnographers and anthropologists to understand, but most of all being able to start in the best way, with the necessary knowledge and without prejudice, to pursue a profession in constant contact with humanity in its many varieties.

The sciences demographic, ethnographic, ethnological and anthropological, basic knowledge of these.
Demography and human flows. Migration, birth, growth, suffering, nudity, nutrition, health care, death. Different ways of living and perceiving what a multicultural knowledge at the service of the nurse.
Basic Concepts of the great monotheistic religions, understanding of polytheistic religions, differences between religions and spiritual philosophies.
Female and male gender and diversity of the different conception of sexuality and social behavior in the polytheistic and monotheistic religions. East and West in comparison.
Being health workers in developing countries and in humanitarian emergencies. The approach Demoethnoanthropological proper professional conduct which act at a correct perception of nursing care, and adequate basis for a successful surgery.

Assessment methods and criteria

The examination will ensure the preparation of the student about the topics covered in the course, in particular the knowledge acquired in the field ethno-anthropological applied to nursing, or the ability to move and interact professionally between different ethnicities and cultures so self-sufficient, avoiding thereby embarrassing errors and little constructive approach.
