Acquisition of the current viral gene manipulation techniques relative to gene therapy.
Students are required to have a knowledge of basic molecular biology.

Viral Vectors in gene therapy and immunotherapy
a) Molecular aspects of replication
b) Vector structure: oncoretrovirus (MMLV) and lentivirus (HIV)
c) Packaging strategies
d) Targeting and pseudo-typification strategies and mechanisms (VSV-G)
e) Cell transduction and expression control
