At the end of the course, basic knowledge about the mechanisms of response to tissue damage (inflammation, hemostasis, repair), as well as about their alterations, should be acquired. Students will also attain proper technical terminology of professional interest.

Systemic effects of inflammation. Fever.
Defects and excesses of inflammation.
Platelets and primary hemostasis
Coagulation (secondary hemostasis)
Thrombosis, Hembolism, Ischemia and Infarction
Mechanisms of repair and regeneration
Angiogenesis and Granulation tissue
Cutaneous wound healing
