Learning outcomes of the course unit
The course is structured so as to provide students withfondamentals on structure and function of the cell and its components, modesof reproduction of organisms, andevolution in general. These notions are basilar to the full comprehension ofthe organic world and understanding of topics of more advaced courses.

- History and development of the theoryof evolution. Natural and Sexual selection. Genetic bases of heredity,mutations and evolutionary processes. Evolution of man.

- Structure, function and evolution ofthe eukariotic cell and its components
-Asexual and sexual reproduction (mitosis ans meiosis)
