Integrated course unit module: LABOUR LAW

Learning objectives

The course aims to enable the student to know and understand the basic principles on the regulation of the labor market, through the investigation of the joints and more fundamental problem that characterize the evolution of matter. The purpose of the lessons is also to provide the student with the ability to use knowledge and understanding of the main issues and problems related to the dynamics of encounter between demand and supply of labor, with particular attention to the use of flexible contracts and their role in the development of policies related to lower rates of unemployment in our country.
In addition, detailed analysis of the most relevant legal guidelines in the field will give the student the opportunity, applying the knowledge and understanding of the issues, to acquire independence of judgment and critical approach to the representation and solution of problems related to the contract form and all ' enter the world of work.

Course unit content

The course aims to describe and analyze the different profiles related to the discipline and regulation of the labor market. In particular, it will be discussed the issue of liberalization of the placement of administrative decentralization and employment services, will be identified with the principles of reform in the organization and discipline of the labor market, including the presence of private operators (employment agencies ). In addition, we will address the issue of flexible contracts, strongly ridisciplinati by the legislature, in the last period, just as the main tool to facilitate the matching between demand and supply of labor and make it our dynamic labor market. With this in mind, will discuss the general issues related to the administration of labor, forward contracts, to training contracts, contracts modulated timetable (intermittent work, job sharing, part-time work), the project work.

Teaching methods

The course consists of lectures. During the lectures will highlight the founding characteristics of each institution and discussed general issues related to their application and any court decisions relating to the interpretation of the largest and most controversial legal concepts involved.

Assessment methods and criteria

The assessment of the achievement of the objectives of the course consists of an oral examination.
Through questions regarding the general themes of the course will be determined whether the student has achieved the goal of knowledge and understanding of the content. Through questions on the instruments of flexibility in entering the labor market will be determined whether the student has achieved the goal of being able to apply the acquired knowledge.
