Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students should acquire the ability to: a) achieve a good knowledge of psychometric models and their operationalizations in psychopathology and neuropsychology, b) be able to make a proper assessment of the quality prerequisites of a psycho-diagnostic tool and to understand the informations derivable from it in a perspective so as idiographic nomothetic, c) develop an adequate range of critical judgment with respect to the quality of psychometric instruments in current use in the field of psychopathology and neuropsychology, d) be able to properly communicate the results psychometric assessments, e) be able to learn assessment techniques and construction / validation of psychometric instruments.
Course contents summary
aim of the course is to provide students with the theoretical tools and applications to understand and develop the most important psychometric techniques used in research, psycho-diagnostics and evaluation of neuropsychological and psychopathological disorders (developmental, degenerative and acquired)
pincipali psychometric tests in clinical and psychodiagnostic: description, areas and precautions of use. Use of tests for diagnostic purposes: techniques for determining the cut-off; discriminative capacity (sensitivity and specificity) and predictive (PPP and PPN, prevalence), sensitivity (ROC curve), decision-making and diagnosis (likelihood ratios , odds)

Assessment methods and criteria
Three tests in progress for attending, the entire program written test, oral examination optional. For students who attend both for non-attending, there will be a written test on the entire program, integrated, only for those who reach the sufficiency, an optional oral examination.
