To learn how to:
- plan simple quantitative esperiments
- to estimate the statistical and systematic errors
- to use a versatile computer program (e.g. octave/matlab) to analise the results

Seven simple experiments, and their data analysis, from statistical errors to best fit of mathematical model functions to the experimental data.

Physics and computing Laboratory for 48 hours (4 CFU). See European Credit Transfer System for the translation of 1 CFU.
Assessment methods and criteria
Seven group reports, one for each experiment, plus a written paper. Final grades are assigned jointly with the second part of this course, in the II semester, based on similar marks in the second part, plus a final individual discussion of one among all the experimental reports
