Learning outcomes of the course unit
At the end of the course students will have acquired the necessary tools for the realization of advanced drawings through which communicate their ideas.
At the end of the course the student will have a comprehensive overview of the main cartographic tools necessary for architectural design and will possess the theoretical assumptions of the representation of architecture.
At the end of the course the student will be able to design and implement the main drawings for the presentation of an architectural project.
Independence of judgment
At the end of the course the students will be able to identify for themselves the methods and the techniques of representation most appropriate for the communication of their work.
Since the representation is one of the leading forms of language for the communication of architecture, passing the exam, the students must necessarily have acquired the ability to communicate their ideas and projects through the drawing.
Course contents summary
The course is aimed to students already accustomed to using the representation as a primary tool for the description of the architecture. For this reason, in order to facilitate students in the preparation of drawings for a thesis, the course is divided into a few lectures with the following topics:
- The historical maps as a support for the designers;
- The architectural drawing and survey as a basis for the design;
- The preparation of the drawings for the presentation of an architectural design.
