Learning outcomes of the course unit
Having analysed the main operating features and distinctive elements that characterise production companies, both public and non-profit, the course will develop themes regarding the quantitative determinations of the company, orientated towards the different cognitive goals of the corporate system, with specific reference to Public Health Companies.
Course contents summary
The main topics of the course syllabus examine:
1. The company. Public health company.
2. The economic subject and the legal subject of public health agencies.
3. The accountancy system in health agencies and the economy and autonomy
4. Balance in health agencies.
5. Management control and budget.
6. Performance evaluation.
Each lecture will be supported with didactic material and bibliographic references.

The methodological approach followed assumes the active involvement of the participants and learning through the application of didactic concepts. Each student will in fact be called upon to carry out an individual project (for more information, see means of assessment) to evaluate the interiorisation of the economic prospects in an everyday organisational dimension. Students will be supported throughout the course in the realisation of the project which will be presented by each student to their colleagues in the last lesson of the course, which will be an opportunity to learn through practice.
Assessment methods and criteria
The exam is divided in a first part consisting of the elaboration and discussion of a paper, and a second part, consisting of questions on matters of business economics and on health economics.
