Learning outcomes of the course unit
As a part of the general course of Internal Medicine, the objective is the knowledge of the main clinical aspects of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, in an effort to allow student to develop a good and systematic clinical approach to the patient with problems of internal Medicine,including knowledge of laboratory parameters and diagnostic tools and procedures, diagnosis-making, therapy-managing and construction of a relationship with the patient and its relatives, mainly within an hospital structure

Introductory remarks on: physiology of circulatory, heart and lung functions.
Pathophysiology and clinics of the main cardiovascular and respiratory syndromes, such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, respiratory and heart failure, bronchial asthma and pneumonias.
Pathophysiology, epidemiology, classification, stages, complications, diagnosis, treatment and intervention strategies for arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart failure, bronchial asthma and pneumonia

Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment of the achievement of the objectives of the course consists of an oral examination. Through questions about the contents of the course will be determined whether the student has achieved the goal of knowledge and understanding of the content. Through questions regarding prevention strategies and preparation of a care plan will be determined whether the student has achieved the aim of translating the acquired knowledge into clinical practice.
