Learning objectives

The aim of the course is to supply knowledges and methodologies about choosing and using actuators for industrial automation. In particular, several examples of choice between traditional mechanical design and modern mechatronic solutions are discussed.

Prerequisites

Physics (Classical mechanics)
Power and control engineering
Teaching methods
Laboratory activities
Exercises are dedicated to program electric and pneumatic actuators in laboratories.
Tutoring activities are supported also with a mailing list in order to share explanations and exercises.

Examination methods
Two intermediate tests and an oral examination (or a project). Each test exempts from the oral examination on the corresponding part of thecourse.
The active participation to lectures and other activities is evaluated.
