Universities may recognize as credits educational activities and courses undertaken in previous university-level education, even if not completed.
Course Councils, with the provision of adequate reasons, may recognize as university credits, within the limits established by the law, sports experience and knowledge and skills relating to a profession, information technology, languages and sports, certified in accordance to current legislation, and other knowledge and skills acquired in post-secondary level educational activities in whose planning and realization the University was involved. Course Councils decide on the recognition of credits in the case of transfer from other universities, transfer to another course of study, or educational activities in another Italian or foreign university, including through the adoption of an individual study plan.
