Various financial supports and options are available to students to ensure that everyone has the possibility of studying.
Besides the University, which offers full or partial exemption from payment of enrolment fees to students depending on their financial needs and academic achievements, the point of reference is ER.GO (the Regional Authority for the right to Higher Education - Parma Branch Office), which has been set up for the purpose of guaranteeing student aid sanctioned by the Italian Constitution.
ER.GO and the University of Parma publish a call for applications at the beginning of July, which defines the order of registration, financial and academic merit requirements for requesting financial assistance and student support services.
Newly enrolled students on 1st Level Degree Courses, Advanced Degree Courses (with the exception of ER.GO benefits for which an application is required) and Single-Cycle Degree Courses may apply without fulfilling any merit requirements, but by simply stating the economic and financial situation of their family.
Students with a disability rating of 66% or above exempt from paying university fees and contributions.
It should be pointed out that, by express legislative provision, university fees vary according to the financial position of the students as indicated in the personal financial statement or ISEE/ISEEU (Indicatore Situazione Economica Equivalente) of their family. With regard to the above, all students are obliged to fill in each year a ISEE/ISEEU self-certification form to determine the increase to be applied to the second payment instalment.
Applications can be downloaded from the website www.er-go.it and www.unipr.it/arpa/tasse (in Italian language only).
