Mauro Bonanini was born in Felino (PR)on 29-8-47.
He graduated as Medical Doctor and as a Dentist at the University of Parma. Researcher at this University in 1989, Full Professor of Oral Diseases at the Medical School in 1997, since 2000 he is Director of the Dental Clinic at the University of Parma. President of the Dental School Council 2000-2003, 2003-2007 and 2008-2011.
Teaching activity. He taught Restorative Dentistry at the Dental Specialization Course 1983-1985, Oral Pathology and Medicine 1985-1989 at the Dental Specialization and School of Dentistry , Prosthetic Dentistry 1993, 1995, 1996 . He holds the Chair of Prosthetic Dentistry at the Dental School at the University of Parma since 1997.

Scientific activity.
He autored more than 140 papers mainly about prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with maxillo facial defects, the relationship between parafunctions and sleep phases, the evaluation of resins polymerization by laser scan, oral lichen carcinogenicity, burning mouth syndrome, Kaposi sarcoma, oral alterations after kidney transplant and in diabetes, Gorlin Goltz syndrome, and laser and quantic resonance instruments in oral surgery.
