After more than a thousand years of history, the University of Parma is nowadays a strategic part of a lively city, full of cultural life and particularly welcoming of students and their diverse needs.
The size of this University, neither too large nor too small (30,000 students, with more than 5,000 graduates per year and about 1,800 lecturers and administrative employees) and the Parma lifestyle attract a large number of students from all over Italy.
More than two-thirds of enrolled students come from outside Parma and its province, which places the University of Parma among the top few nationally for its capacity to attract non-resident students.
Our course prospectus offers 35 first degree courses, 38 advanced degree courses (two of them totally run in English) and 6 one-cycle degree courses.
Several Departments and centres, as well as student services and sport facilities are grouped together in a unique 77-hectare area, the Campus - one of the few university campuses in Italy.
The University of Parma is one of the most well known universities in the whole of Europe, thanks to its focus on excellence in teaching, research, innovation, meeting job market demands and for the facilities it offers (on-line communication services, information and career counselling services, computer laboratories and Internet access points, libraries, ad-hoc services for disabled students, language courses, foreign exchange programmes and many opportunities for practising sports).
Research is a key feature of the University of Parma. We are proud of our research endeavours, exemplified by the results achieved by our research teams, our many scientific publications in the most renowned international journals and numerous group collaborations with foreign partner universities.
The University of Parma covers several different research areas: from the food industry to biotechnology, from pharmaceutical innovation to experimental medicine, as well as law, business and art.
Reading these web pages you will discover our commitment to our students and their studies and the importance we attach to quality teaching, innovation and research.
We want our students to become responsible citizens in a society that needs to respond to the European and international challenges and opportunities that are increasingly presented to it.
This website serves to present all the opportunities that the University and the city of Parma have to offer.
